What Critter Are You Based On How You Work?

Writing is hard!

I don’t mean the kind where you’re writing in your journal and is between you and God. There’s often hard work to do there but the words matter less than the cries of the heart.

What I’m talking about is putting yourself out there for the whole world to see. I will be the first to admit I didn’t always do the best in English class. I love words and try to do the best I can and especially for those who are reading them. Yet I’m sure there are many people out there who cringe every time they see my grammar, or lack thereof.

I’m sure I’m the only one who ends at least one sentence of every blog post with a preposition! I’m discovering I just want to be true to who God created me to be, ill-placed prepositions, too many adverbs and all.

Now don’t get me wrong, I want to better my writing abilities.  I’m investing my time and energy into growing as a writer. But more important to me than all the grammar in the world is for you to understand we are all created for hard stuff.

We need to grab a hold of how much God loves each of us. I pray, whether I get it right on paper or not, you can see my heart.

I love that God created us to do hard things. He knows despite our weaknesses His strength will shine.

So what weaknesses are you dealing with right now? Do you believe God is bigger than your challenges?

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

When I am weak in my own human strength it helps me to seek God and realize I need his strength. It opens up my eyes to how much I need Him.

I don’t want my weaknesses to trip other people up but my main concern is to always be authentic with you.

Isn’t it amazing that God isn’t waiting for us to be all spiffy it up and perfect before we come to him and ask for help? When we get a hold of that truth it changes everything. Knowing we can take anything to Jesus is unbelievably freeing.

Now I don’t mean we can continue to live in sin. God expects us to move forward. He loves us right where we are but He also loves us enough to help us change. He gives us the grace to makes the changes needed.

What hard things are you facing right now in your life? How does the knowledge that God made us for hard things and gives us the grace to overcome empower you to face these hard things?

Let me know in the comments how the power of grace is helping you overcome the hard things in your life.

I will be praying for you friend!
